The Data Lab’s first project, Terner’s Housing Policy Dashboard provides unique, transparent and policy-oriented evaluation tools for policymakers to project future housing growth, and test their existing or planned policies’ impact on that future.
The housing crisis requires local leaders to evolve planning and policy. We allow policymakers to test solutions, identify the bottlenecks hindering the creation of new homes, and right-size changes to their communities.
The Housing Policy Dashboard was first built for Los Angeles and allows professional planners to fine-tune land use and policy inputs, reflect market conditions, and get forecasted development. Policy scenario modeling allows users to see the magnitudes of the effects from policy changes under consideration.
We are expanding the Dashboard to serve more cities, starting with a cohort of 8-10 communities across California in fall 2022. For more information on joining the Terner Dashboard's next cohort of communities, please contact us via the link above.
